The question is, do I get up early and go out before the day warms up or do I go out tomorrow evening?? This evening is so beautiful I actually wish it was run day today ๐Ÿ˜Š

Good luck with W3 R1. Youโ€™ll smash it, Iโ€™m sure!

Whenever you like to run, I like running in the morning but yesterday (Saturday 5 May) I did week 3 round 2 in the afternoon around a reservoir about 15 miles from where I live, I took a train ride to that reservoir.

So I started my run/walk at 2.05pm and finished at 2.20pm, it went very well indeed, there were walkers well in front of me at the start and when I finished, these same walkers were well behind me, looking forward to R3 run 3 on Monday.

Today, my 'rest' day, before breakfast I did a little yoga and a 2-minute workout on my kettlebells. After lunch, I went a 1-hour cycle ride in the countryside near to where I live.

it's going to be a gorgeous morning tomorrow

I ran this morning and it was perfect conditions, not too warm in the sun and not too cold in the shade. I also like knowing that my exercise is over for the day!

I would aim for morning. Overnight it will cool more than it does during the evening.

I will be out tomorrow before it gets too warm :) Best part of the day:)

Looks like a few of us will be out there running together :)

Morning it is then ๐Ÿ‘. Shame we canโ€™t all get together to run ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜Š

Less bugs to swallow in the morning!

BlondeAmbition72 profile image
BlondeAmbition72Graduateโ€ข in reply toagedsnailspace

That has got to be a bonus. I swallowed a fly on my last run. Not nice! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Yep. They say โ€˜How do you spot a cheerful runner?โ€™....โ€™They have flies stuck all over their teeth!โ€™ ๐Ÿ˜‚

Go out and kick that W3R2's ass!! Yaya!! And avoid the flying protein nasties x

BlondeAmbition72 profile image
BlondeAmbition72Graduateโ€ข in reply tosallenson

Managed to avoid the extra protein lol but it was tough this morning!! โ˜น๏ธ It was my first morning run, I usually run after work, and boy I struggled! R1 I found really comfortable and felt like I couldโ€™ve run further, but today? I only just made it to the end ๐Ÿค”

Prefer morning. Quieter and cooler.

Iโ€™m on holiday tomorrow so will join you. Iโ€™m also doing W3R2 I usually run after work so will be a change. stupid question but should you eat before you run in the morning?

SW16 profile image
SW16Graduateโ€ข in reply toManushi

Personal preference, but I find leaving an hour or so after my cornflakes makes for a more comfortable run. Sometimes though I run without eating, just a cuppa- I tend to go a bit faster ๐Ÿ˜

AlMorr profile image

Difference between cycling and running, I am new to running and give it at least 1 hour after I eat breakfast or lunch, but when I cycled I went straight out on my bicycle and did a 30-mile cycle run after a meal without any problems whatsoever.

I run in the mornings on a big gulp of water with a banana and more water after. For W6R3 I had a banana moments before going out the door. No ill effects.

BlondeAmbition72 profile image
BlondeAmbition72Graduateโ€ข in reply toJay66UK

Thatโ€™s what I did this morning, just some water before, then a banana and water when I got back ๐Ÿ˜Š

BlondeAmbition72 profile image

Good luck! I usually run after work. Today was my first morning run and I found it much tougher! Not sure why? Maybe my body hadnโ€™t woken up lol!

How did you find it? R1 was comfortable for me. Today, R2 I found much harder!

JoOnTheRun profile image
JoOnTheRunGraduateโ€ข in reply toBlondeAmbition72

I found run 1 no problem but the second 3 min run today was a toughie...Iโ€™m hoping itโ€™s just because I had a late night last night! Well done for conquering it ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜€

We run at around 06:20 in the morning. It is cool and less bugs with the added bonus that at Stanwick Lakes, quite a few other runners there. It is so beautiful with mist over the lakes, just like it was this morning.. Love it.
