I'm in the middle of repeating wk2. I have one more run to do. I'm terrier about going up to week 3. I'm terrified of moving up.

You can definitely do it! The plan is designed to see you succeed, and won't set you a challenge you can't meet. That said, if you do struggle and have to repeat a run, or a week, that is totally fine as well - everyone goes at their own pace. Every week, I have looked at the next week's plan and gone 'oh no, I'm not sure how I'll manage that', then gone ahead and managed it anyway. I'm sure you'll do the same. Good luck!

Don't be!

You are doing brilliantly ... getting out there on the first run of W1 was a great achievement in itself.

Trust in the program, many have gone before you, it works!

Slow, slow, slow is the way to go. It's not a competition so listen to your body and I know you'll be fine.

You CAN DEFINITELY DO THIS!

Good luck and happy running!

I was scared too. I didn't think I would manage week 3 as I found week 2 so hard (it doesn't help being 4 stone overweight and asthmatic!). I took week 3 run 1 really slowly, the advice is to go as slow as you need to as long as both feet come off the ground. Wave to the snails as they pass you 🤣 🐌🤣 ....I put my favourite 80's mix on, took it steady, made sure my breathing was deep and regular, and was amazed that I managed it - and so will you!! I won't lie, it wasn't easy but it was manageable and not such a big a step up from week 2 as you think. Make sure you stretch properly afterwards. Good luck.... Let us know how you get on!! 😁

You chose to start this plan which I presume you understood from the outset is progressive towards running non stop for thirty minutes. What are you terrified about? Each run is taking you nearer your target. Isn't that exciting, rather than terrifying?

What is the worst possible outcome? You have to repeat a run........big deal.

You can do this.

Hi Loo,

I was very nervous at the start of week 3, only slightly less than for the start of week 1.

It is the first big step up and can seem overwhelming.

The first two weeks of the programme have been gently conditioning your body to adapt to running; your legs are stronger and your cardiovascular system is more efficient.

Try W3R1 and see how you get on. I believe that you can do it.

Good luck and report back on it.

If you're repeating W2 that means your committed and don't want to "cheat" the program. That's a real mental achievement already. Take W3R1 really slow and steady and avoid looking at your watch during the 3 min runs. If your walking it doesn't matter - the biomechanics of each is different.

A bit of nervousness is fine and to be expected. But you've got this far and can do more. Have a go and see how you feel. You'll surprise yourself and feel on top of the world afterwards.
