Gave up during my run today. Week 5 run 1

Went running round my local park today, aiming for my week five first run. Did the first 5 minutes and the 3 minute walk then 2.5 minutes and just couldn’t keep going. My thighs were sore, I was going REALLY slowly and I just thought “I can’t do it.” It’s put me in a proper bad mood as well.

Any tips for getting back on it? Going to try again tomorrow.

Don't give up, but have a day off so your legs can recover. I find every run so different. Give it another go and try to stay positive

It doesn't matter how slowly you run. Have a rest day then give it another go

Doesn't matter, just give it another go. Loads of us have, but please have a rest day first.

Rest tomorrow and then head out again... slow as you like... relax and just KNOW you will do it:)

We all have a bad run sometimes - just put it behind you and try again. Good luck

I think the 3 x 5 minutes is the hardest session. I am about to start week 8, the 20 minute run was easier for me, seriously. Do it again and remember it gets better. Good luck!

I pulled a calf muscle in week 5 run 1 . I was gutted had to rest for a while then went back to the start of week 4. Don't give up as everyone else said do it at your own pace just keep going good luck.

Hi Zoe, keep going and don't be cross with yourself! You can do it - but as the others say too, make sure you have a good rest day before trying again.
