So I did my first run of week 4 this morning! It did not go to plan and I did not complete the runs. I am now not sure whether to continue and hopefully improve or whether to repeat week 3.
Week 4: So I did my first run of week 4 this... - Couch to 5K
Week 4
Do what feels right for you, when you don’t trust yourself, trust the programme. Everyone has off days, if you are doing the three lots of five minutes I don’t blame you for not getting through I struggle through the first 5 minutes of every run so doing it 3 times is a nightmare. I can’t believe I am saying this but the first 20 minute run was easier, partly the training but the relief of only feeling that bad for 5 minutes was great. I call it my mini wall but it doesn’t feel that small. You will make it, at this stage you just have to keep going and know it gets better, very soon.
Thank you for this. I was completely demotivated after this morning's run. But I have now got my head round it a bit and I refuse to let today's run best me☺
I’m only on week 3 but I’d say stick with week 4 and go at a nice slow pace. Even if you don’t complete it just keep repeating the run until you can! Doesn’t matter how many times you have a go at it! Most important thing is you’re out there giving it a go! Good luck .
I too did my week 4 first run today. The weather was awful - cold and wet which didn’t help. I felt that I was plodding along and slower than ever. My legs ached from the start, but I got there. Have a rest day tomorrow and try again on Wednesday. Good luck.
If you do not complete a run then repeat that run, not an earlier week, as laid out in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Repeating a run means you are working at the challenge you need to crack, not an easier one. Each run is practice for the next one, whether you complete it or not.
You will beat it.
I repeated the whole of week 2 as I didnt run for 6 days but managed W3 R1 last night and I did it!! Really thought I wouldn't manage 3 mins straight running but it felt ok. I think just getting off the couch, whatever run, is brilliant. Let's keep trying 😎
