Halfway through antibiotics and felt better so decided to do run 2 week 2. What a fail!! Didn't make it to the end of the first run before I was gasping and coughing. 2nd run I gave up and walked briskly for the rest of the app session. I'll try again when I'm fully recovered.
Not sure if I will ever be a runner......I want to enjoy it but much prefer the fast walking.
Haven't given up completely yet tho.

If the antibiotics are for a chest infection I would wait until they are finished and you are better before going out again. The old saying above the neck, exercise - below rest does work as a test of whether to go out or not. Take your running very slowly and enjoy your fast walking on other days is a good solution. Eventually the two will meet and your enjoyment might just double.
I think you're right. I guess I'm just too impatient and its a lovely morning. My husband said to me to just do it when I feel like it as I tend to look at things as a chore if I plan them. My problem is I think too far ahead and was worried incase having too many days off would ruin it altogether. Also it's only week 2 and I could start again if I really had to.
The brilliant thing about this programme is that it is always there to nibble at when you want. Bigger gaps might start to impact on stamina once built but it does take a couple of weeks for that to happen. If one run isn't do-able (when not ill) you can always try again, or go back one. This is your programme to do your way with no pressure, look at it that way and you might get to enjoy it more - oops didn't mean to sound like a lecture π.
I work in cardiac rehab and if anyone comes to the exercise class on antibiotics we send them home. Your body is already under a lot of stress fighting off an infection and then if you then try and ask it to exercise itβs always going to end with you feeling worse. Please take your time to recover and look after yourself x
Thank you. Im not a person that gets ill very often and find it hard to rest and get frustrated easily. I have learnt my lesson from this tho and will wait until I finish the course and feel better π.
