Finally got out for R2โ€ฆa bit of minor faffage lead to over a week passing byโ€ฆ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

So today I went back to the River Walkโ€ฆa good little 2 mile circuitโ€ฆover a bridge, up one side of the river, over a second bridge, and back down the other side. Itโ€™s where I started C25k the first time, just over 3 years ago. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Soโ€ฆwarm up stretches in the car park, and off I go for my 5 minute warm up walk. The sun is shining, but itโ€™s not too hot. There are leaves on the ground, but thereโ€™s plenty still on the trees. Later in the month, when the trees have their full autumn colours, itโ€™s a truly lovely place to be.

5 minutes are up, time to run. I wonder if one of the reasons that people go too fast is the word โ€œrunโ€ itselfโ€ฆit seems to have that automatic link with going fastโ€ฆyou run for a bus, you run if youโ€™re lateโ€ฆinstinctively you want to go fast when you โ€œrunโ€โ€ฆ

โ€ฆso slow jogging is the way for me. Donโ€™t get me wrong, I talk about running, and Iโ€™m a runnerโ€ฆbut I do it slowly. Most of us here are doing this for fun, or health reasonsโ€ฆweโ€™re not out to win races or be the next Paula Radcliffe or Mo Farrah. So enjoy the runโ€ฆand slow down!

Todayโ€™s run is fine. Slightly aching inner thighs, which I remember from the first time around, is my only problem. Not really out of puff either. I have a longer walk back to the car as I donโ€™t cover 2 miles in those first few weeks. Some long stretches and a drinkโ€ฆand Iโ€™m off food shopping!

ย ย Beatlesforever Iโ€™m hereโ€ฆwhere are you! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Embrace your inner snail and enjoy ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’™

Great post and run from you LottieMW I am sure Beatlesforever is around somewhere, I remember a man called Sallenson way back in 2018 on this forum using that saying "embrace your inner snail", enjoy the Autumn leaves and colours.

I'm here! Started this morning ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŽ‰ I'm not following the c25k app though, I've gone through it twice already and another time doing only the first run or two of each week. So I just used the 2x2 jeffing set run on my Garmin, don't know if it's one I set up or one that comes already pre-set. Basically, a 3 min warm up walk, then 2 min running alternating with 2 min walking. Did 23 minutes+ walk home. Feeling great! Thank you Lottie, you're the inspiration I needed!! ๐Ÿ˜€

I'm still going to check out the structure from c25k and maybe programme similar runs on Garmin but I think I've just heard the motivational bits too many times, as much as I love Sanjeev I don't think I can go through it another time ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Are you running every other day? I'll try to catch up with you! Enjoy R3! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
