Finally got out for R2โฆa bit of minor faffage lead to over a week passing byโฆ๐ฌ
So today I went back to the River Walkโฆa good little 2 mile circuitโฆover a bridge, up one side of the river, over a second bridge, and back down the other side. Itโs where I started C25k the first time, just over 3 years ago. ๐
Soโฆwarm up stretches in the car park, and off I go for my 5 minute warm up walk. The sun is shining, but itโs not too hot. There are leaves on the ground, but thereโs plenty still on the trees. Later in the month, when the trees have their full autumn colours, itโs a truly lovely place to be.
5 minutes are up, time to run. I wonder if one of the reasons that people go too fast is the word โrunโ itselfโฆit seems to have that automatic link with going fastโฆyou run for a bus, you run if youโre lateโฆinstinctively you want to go fast when you โrunโโฆ
โฆso slow jogging is the way for me. Donโt get me wrong, I talk about running, and Iโm a runnerโฆbut I do it slowly. Most of us here are doing this for fun, or health reasonsโฆweโre not out to win races or be the next Paula Radcliffe or Mo Farrah. So enjoy the runโฆand slow down!
Todayโs run is fine. Slightly aching inner thighs, which I remember from the first time around, is my only problem. Not really out of puff either. I have a longer walk back to the car as I donโt cover 2 miles in those first few weeks. Some long stretches and a drinkโฆand Iโm off food shopping!
ย ย Beatlesforever Iโm hereโฆwhere are you! ๐
Embrace your inner snail and enjoy ๐๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐๐๐
