I am a male, 63 years old. I have been fit in my life but for the past 25 years I have let myself go a bit and am now overweight. I have no known serious medical health issues and have just come back from a walking holiday. My apprehension is that as there is no age differentiation in the intensity level in the programme is it safe for all age groups without modification?

Yes, certainly! My wife is the same age and has just restarted c25k and completed w1, 6 months after major brain surgery. I did c25k at 60 and there are others on here older than us and benefited. Think someone graduated at age 83!

The intensity level of the programme is set by you. You will never be asked to run at a specific pace or cover a specific distance. The recommended pace is one at which you can hold a clear ungasping conversation as you run/jog. Failure is impossible unless you hear permanently back to the couch, so follow the link Dave gave you and get ready to transform your life.
Enjoy your journey.
