First run completed!

Started C25K this morning! I was inspired by the marathon at the weekend, it’s on my bucket list. But I’m not going to get there if I don’t get off my back side! First run while walking the dog this morning, my local park is on a hill so tried to stick to the flattest parts, but twice I ended up running up hill!! Found the first run difficult, I didn’t realise I was that unfit! Hoping it gets easier as the weeks go on

Well done! The steps are gradual and you can do this. I just did the midway run of the programme with my first 20 minute run to come later in the week. I’m nearly 52 and about 5 stone overweight. If I can...

Enjoy your next run!

I said last year after the marathon that I wanted to run my city’s half marathon this year but didn’t go for one run!

Congratulations on beginning your amazing journey. The first few runs are hard but before you know it you are a runner and pushing yourself to go further or faster. I am not saying it gets easier because you find you push yourself more but you do find you want to challenge yourself. I have never wanted to run a marathon but after 5 months of running by starting and graduating the C25K and then continuing I am thinking about entering this year to Challenge myself. Before you know it you will be doing it. Just keep going. Good luck and remember celebrate the good runs and learn from the hard ones. X

Well done Lou! It can be a bit of a shock to the system at first but I think getting out there and doing the first one is the hardest step, I’m sure you’ll soon be addicted 😊.

I was inspired by the marathon too, I might enter a half at the end of the year if training goes to plan.

Very cute running companion you have there too!

Great to see a big smile at the end of your first run - doesn't it feel amazing? I'm on week 7 now, and totally loving it.

Woohoo! Great to have you here Lou and good job getting inspired and getting out there! It is difficult but listen to your body, and keep at it! It's ok if it takes more than 9 weeks as well.
