Goodbye and Good Luck

A reply ridiculing my 'rookie' mistakes on Saturday has led me to the conclusion that I must complete C25K without the support of this forum. I doubt anyone really relishes being told to 'get a grip on a public forum; at any rate, I don't, so I'm bowing out gracefully.

I have really appreciated your support and advice and would like to have celebrated my graduation here. As it is, I will complete the programme privately. (Just 4 more runs!) I had hoped to have celebrated the graduations of some of you too. Please take my Congratulations as read ๐Ÿ˜Š

This is a terrific community and one in which I was only made to feel ridiculous once but that should never have happened. I hope that no one else has experienced the same. Laughing at a runner here is no less bad than shouting after her in person.

Please please donโ€™t let one comment make you do this! And big apologies for such behaviour .

I read your post and you did exactly the right thing and no it was not a Rookie run. You are quite right that anyone who laughs at a runner is just the same as shouting after them in person.

The person who did this post namely Tbea should be ashamed of themselves. Their cutting comments have obviously hurt you a lot so much so you are leaving us!

This should never happen on this forum! This is a place of encouragement and support at least I always thought it was. For people who wish to ridicule others on here are no better than the spiteful trolls that you find on the pathetic Facebook of which Iโ€™m not a fan.

So please take with you this message. We on this forum are not all like this.

We only offer support ,encouragement and kindness.

Good luck in your running msanni and I hope you will join us again sometime or even stay๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’

I'm sorry you feel that way. For what it's worth, I think the person involved would be mortified if they knew that's how they had made you feel and I'm sure that wasn't their intention.

If you look at their other posts and replies I really think that they only ever try and be supportive.

But, if you do decide to leave us, good luck with your last four runs to graduation and then beyond โ˜บ

I just had a quick look. I genuinely do not think the comment was meant as you read it.

I understand why you took it that way but I really dont think that was the sentiment.

Please... don't respond to the remark of a forum member make you do this..

You are doing well, and in your own way.

I can totally empathise with you, as I was subjected to a tirade of verbal and extremely of offensive abuse, in a reply and in a personal message. It was so offensive that the post was removed by the health Unlocked team and the poster was blocked.

We would like you to stay with us... the badge is waiting...reconsider, please.

That's such a shame. I've always had very supportive comments and good advice. Just sometimes we don't read something in the way it was intended. I attended some training on use of email and the advice was that people put their own intonation into written communication. The same thing can happen on forums.

I am sure there was never any intention to upset you and I have always had good support by the mentioned person.

Best of luck with your future running and graduation. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘

Please don't go....I don't think it was meant to be mean but I understand how you read it that way. I have found that being here has really motivated me and kept me running. I have had a very few negative comments that have upset/annoyed me but many many helpful ones that have spurred me on and assisted me. Don't let it bother you. Rise above....

Sorry to read this msanni - statistically out of more than 46000 members on this forum there are probably going to be a very small number who hit a nerve with us - whether or not it was intentional ๐Ÿ˜Š Having read the post I can see why it has hurt you - Maybe if it had been said in person to you it might have been received differently? All these emojis and brief sentences can sometimes come over as harsh and insensitive - I'm sure you'll do what's right for you but would love you to stay on the forum so that we can keep cheering you on and Whoop at the podium ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰ You're doing amazingly and are inspiring lots of us! ๐Ÿค— Best of luck x

I would like you to stay on here. Purely because I've just started and need as much support, ambition and drive - like you. I want to hear how you're progressing and what problems you have overcome...

I did not see the post, nor do I intend to seek it out, but your posts and comments , along with the mentors, are amongst those that kept me moving forward.

If possible, I would like you to reconsider your decision .

I hope you can.

Don't go! :(

I don't think that comment was meant in the way you have taken it. Sometimes things don't sound the same when they are written down. This forum gives so much support and advice normally and it will be such a shame for you to leave.

I also want to hear how you are progressing with getting to graduation! :)

Happy running! :)

Lots of good advice and support on this post - but definitely don't agree with getting some one kicked off. I understand your feelings but there is an apology for on the original post for any misunderstanding and offence caused.

Let's go for a run and move on. Happy running everyone

Good advice... If in doubt, let's go running :)

Itโ€™s a shame you want to leave over the comment for which you did receive an apology ๐Ÿ™

Stay and finish the job. Please ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ’ช

If you leave and or stop running youโ€™ll be making a big mistake . I say that as I was your age when I started, and I know what good this programme has done me. Itโ€™s life -changingly brilliant

Sometimes though itโ€™s tough. But when the going gets tough we dig in. We donโ€™t quit ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘.

Now I have read the post I donโ€™t think it was meant as it was taken. The person who made the comment has always given good advice and always been supportive I just think a poor choice of words can be taken badly when you first read them. But please donโ€™t go. Look at my previous post, it was a judgement made without reading the original post (my bad) no one should be kicked off for a misunderstanding , I was wrong.๐Ÿ˜ž

Please take no notice of what appears to be a troll comment you recieved on here, I haven't seen the comment, maybe it's been deleted, but if you were truly offended, then that's abuse and if the offender carries on in this fashion then they will be dealt with accordingly by admin, so, chinup and stay with us, runner..๐Ÿ˜Š

Donโ€™t let one bad experience make you leave. We all had the odd bad experiences with members. Just take a look at my what to do help post. All the negativity I received I used it to my advantage and it made me more determined to complete the program. I canโ€™t see the bad comment but I think it might of been from a member who gave me hassle for my extra cardio workouts after running any way like everyone says donโ€™t leave and complete the program and get your well deserved graduation badge.

I'm assuming the comment was deleted as I can't seem to be able to see it. I've been here for well over a year and in all that time only twice have I seen really nasty people get a shot or two in before being booted.

I would never have completed the programme msanni without the advice and support of this forum, and would probably not kept up with one of the best things I've ever done without the continued advice, support - and at this stage the friendships made here that keep Running so much fun on so many levels.

Written communication can so easily be misinterpreted. As I say, I can't see the comment that affected you but if it is by someone who is anything like a more than few days member I would tend to think they meant no offense.

Whatever your decision about your forum membership I do wish you many happy miles in your future, ok ๐Ÿ™‚

Don't go! I nearly left because of a hurtful comment by someone-in the end I decided to ignore it. I think sometimes it is difficult when things are typed - like in a text or email as you can't hear the tone of the persons voice. I haven't seen the comment but don't leave here you have given so much support to others. Xx

I had a look and canโ€™t see the post but whatever it said donโ€™t let it drive you off the forum. use it as an incentive to graduate ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽ“. You have done so well and only 4 runs left. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ maybe it was a badly worded message meant to encourage you - I havenโ€™t read it so I donโ€™t know ๐Ÿค”. If it was an unpleasant message then stuff em, they are irrelevant to you and your journey- whatever anyone says you are out there doing your runs and getting this done. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ Stick with it - any negative messages reply with โ€œla la la la not listening ๐Ÿ˜œโ€ and keep posting so we can celebrate your graduation ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽ“. I have only just finished week2 and it is journeys like yours that keep me going and thinking I can do this ๐Ÿ‘Š
