I completed the first run an hour ago - ending up a red faced, sweaty ball of fat. Not sure that I've got the "brisk walk" idea in between runs right-I just seem to have enough time in 90 seconds to catch my breath! I did enjoy swearing at Michael Johnson though! In spite of all, feeling great now and hope I can remember this feeling before the next run.
W1R1 - Didn't think I had it in me!: I completed... - Couch to 5K

Fantastic, very well done. Im just starting week 4 but I remember going out a bit like a racehorse in the first week (racehorse I'm not! more a donkey..shape and size!) I slowed everything right down and slowed and deepened my breathing ..that really helped. I think that first week I was kind of in panic mode and was doing very short quick breaths.
Well done! I just restarted yesterday, but seem to remember the first time round my walk was too fast and it took a few runs to get the right balance of not being too slow or too fast so I'm sure you'll find the right pace soon

Well done. That's the hardest IMO but we have reserves of grit we didn't know we had and this programme brings it out 💪💪💪
When I did the first run I really thought I'd have a heart attack. But no I didn't, still here 🤗
Good luck for the second run, take your time, enjoy it and be prepared to become a bit addicted 🙂
Awesome start! I agree with others replies, you will settle in to what works for you, pace and breathing. You got off the couch 🤗

Cheers Mel! Can't wait for the day when I feel I've cracked it.
Keep at it!!! I just finished my first week. Getting started is half the battle. Don’t give up.
Many thanks for the encouragement. Hopefully I'll still be here next week☺

Well done.
You now know you can do it, so W1R2 will not be as daunting.
Me too, I also had the stress of trying to work out pace and breathing. In summary, see how it goes and there is no such thing as too slow. I pushed it a bit today (W1R3), but the previous one I took a bit more carefully.
We'll done again.
Hey Scubadod . That’s brilliant . I am 47 and a bit overweight and struggled with the brisk walking . I think the main thing is to keep going . I have Joe Wiley spurring me on .
When is your next run planned ?
