I had to take an extra 2 minute break after run section 4, and run section 7 was curtailed by 10 seconds due to park maintenance crew cutting across my path without looking (I would have managed to finish it apart from that).
All in all a better effort than last time, and hopefully I'll complete it on Thursday.
Don't worry too much. It is a shock to the body when you go from zero exercise to moderate exercise. It takes time. Take all the time you need, each time you try you will get fitter and stronger. Keep at it 3 times a week, and you will get there. By the end of September you will be running for 30 mins if you stick to the plan. Best of luck on Thursday.
It really isn't from zero exercise - I've been doing three sessions a week for approaching 6 months - usually an aqua-running, circuit training and one other. Yes, I'm overweight, but the issue is the heaviness of the legs (something that I don't get when running in water), not lack of breath.
Great post, great attitude You have the spirit that will take you all the way to Graduation My first day a passerby was calling an ambulance for me - I was bent double with 'a blue tinge around his lips and eyes'. Thank god I was able topersuade her I would be fine - and I was. I went from that to where I ran my first 10K/2 hours 20 minutes or thereabouts, less than a year later...but mind you, there are days I can barely do twenty minutes It's a process and you are on your way
I agree with the others - great mental attitude. Keep at it - you will get there🙂 Make sure you take it slow and steady too - this is the best way of building up that fitness in the early stages. Good luck🙂
