Week 5 run 3 done💪💪

Sarahtryingtogetfit profile image

So I attempted week 5 run 3 earlier today and I did it and it was no where as difficult as I expected it to be, so pleased with myself I honestly struggled to run 90 seconds when I started. Iv done all my runs on a treadmill so far how do people thinks the treadmill compares to outdoor, is one harder than the other ??

You can still run on a treadmill what ever the weather conditions are outside 😉 and at anytime of the day 🤔

Hey I do most of my runs on treadmill just on week 6 but I have done a few outdoors and I found them harder coz it was cold and dark so I had to concentrate a lot more

Just different... I move faster indoors, if I have to use indoors.. ( ice or injury) but outdoors is wonderful... Outside you have little control of your environment... surfaces, weather conditions etc etc... that is what makes it so exciting:)

They are different from each other and both have their pros and cons. The best way is the way that suits you and you will stick with. I would suggest having the treadmill at an incline of 1% though just in case you decide to venture outdoors as the incline will give a bit of simulation of outdoors.

Main difference outdoors is obviously the weather and the fact that the ground stays still, you need to propel yourself along, cross roads, avoid hazards.

Enjoying your running is a good aim. And congratulations on doing w5r3 - that's a biggie 👏

They’re just a bit different - great thing about a treadmill is it gives you a very controllable atmosphere and environment - but do remember to keep your incline levels increasing, as that will help if you run outdoors.

Outdoors - plenty of stimulus - but the old favourite the weather can really affect your running from being too hot to having a Force 9 blowing in your face.

I’ve done both but prefer outdoors, others prefer the certainty of the treadmill, because they know it is all under their control.

Either way you’ve just done. nice milestone run, well done you
