Injury Update

Morning all,

As some of you may be aware, I’ve been on the IC with a torn Hamstring I sustained at my local Parkrun 3 weeks ago.

I’ve been having Physio treatment and it’s responding well, I’ve been a good boy and followed physios orders 🤗

My last session was last Thurs and after a bit of painful thigh manipulation 😖 Physio gave me some Hamstring strengthening exercises I must do for the next week......then a short jog next weekend to see how it holds up...yay 😊

Fingers crossed it’s OK 🤞 I have a follow up appointment on Thurs week.

Happy Running folks 🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃

This sounds very reassuring Ted, you must be relieved to know that the treatment is working. I bet you have worked out a route for that short jog, and run it a few times in your imagination... fingers crossed and good luck😊xxx

Relieved is a understatement Jan 😊

Not planned a route as I’m doing a biking trip to the Peak District at the weekend so will have to be a jog around Matlock with my brother 🏃🏃

Nice to hear from you Ted. Glad too that you are being patient, sensible and philosophical. I hope you are back running soon :)

Thanks Helen, hoping it won’t be too long now 😊🏃🏃

We used to say cross your fingers and toes but probably not a great idea for a run!

That's all great news Ted! You are on the mend with a possible jog on the horizon too! Fingers crossed it all works out and you are back on the road soon :)

I am a little way behind you with a stubborn piriformis muscle that won't behave. Stretching and not running (4 weeks) but I think it will be a while longer yet. 10k doesn't seem likely any time soon!!

Oh well, we have to take the rough with the smooth and after our stint on the IC we'll just be happy to be running again, no matter what distance! :)

Thanks FPF, hoping it shouldn’t be long now. Sorry to hear you’re still having problems but as they say, patience is a virtue! Hope you’re up and running soon 😊

Take care x

That’s great Claire, just run at a comfortable pace, you’re not racing anyone....forget about pace and enjoy it 😊

That's good news, you have something to aim for now 👍

I do love Matlock. I'm stopping there on a road trip in July whilst doing Chatsworth, Buxton, Bakewell and Ladybower 😁

Fingers crossed the recovery keeps moving in the right direction. 👍😁
