Shoulder injury

I’ve hurt my shoulder. Too much lifting suitcases in and out of the car I think. It hurts when I run. The physio says it’s a rotator cuff injury and has given me some exercises but he also says I can’t run at the moment. So I’m volunteering at my local Parkrun which is a way of staying motivated and feeling connected. It’s a bit frustrating as I had just begun to get a bit faster. Of course ‘faster’ is a relative term for someone who had never run before and is almost 70. If I can get to run a kilometre in under 8 minutes I will be really pleased!

Oooh have fun volunteering! That’s a great idea to keep in the loop. Hope you’re running soon 👌🏽

I am 72 - I got a tear in my rotator cuff muscle several months ago. I have no idea how it came about but it mostly hurt while in bed - it is almost gone now , but it has been slow. It never really stopped me from running though but I had trouble trying to put my running belt on :) - just as well as all this year I have been training for a marathon which I have now completed.

You’re right. It really hurts when I’m in bed trying to get comfortable. My other shoulder is dodgy too because I had treatment for breast cancer on that side last year. Hopefully it will improve soon!
