Hello I am 2 runs into my first week, I did a little bit of running last year that did not amount to much. I love to do Zumba and dance fit but due to a shoulder injury I am not able to do either of those so I decided I am going to challenge myself to couch to 5k. I am just turned 53, and suffer from anxiety, and work as a HCA on a busy ward, I need to do some form of keeping fit to keep my mind calm and to stop the never ending worry over nothing!! So I am on a mission to do a 5k.

Welcome JGalv and well done getting started. I too ( at 58) have never been on a forum before - I joined by accident ( computer confusion!) - It’s the best mistake I ever made. Everyone is so friendly and supportive & a great source of information. The C25K is a wonderful program, just go slowly and enjoy the journey. 😃

Hello! I’m 53 too and doing C25K is the best thing I’ve ever done! ( And joining this forum!) I’m running 3 times a week now and have just managed a 10k!
I’m such a worrier and over thinker but running had definitely helped! I think I’m trimmer and fitter than I have ever been!! It’s such a great programme to follow! 😀🏃♀️
Hello and welcome aboard. The programme is fantastic and it teaches you more than just how to run. It's brilliant for stress release and focusing your mind away from daily issues.
Try to just look at one run at a time and don't put too much pressure on yourself.
Most of all... enjoy! 👍😁
Welcome to the forum.

Aww Thank you for your messages, I have done week one!! I can not imagine what week 9 is like but I am determined, for many reasons. The biggest reason is I feel I will have control over this, I have struggled with things beyond my control for a long time, my lovely Dad had dementia and I along with 2 of my sisters were his carers, I was working busy shifts at hospital then on a rota with my sisters for Dad, life last year was really difficult and stressful, then Dad died suddenly one day last October, he just got ill and died the same day, all those things I had no control over, then my anxiety demons got me a few weeks after and I was really bad for a few weeks, again no control, I am lucky I have a lovely supportive husband and a lovely son who is away at Uni, but I felt i was drowning. Anyway a few months on and things are much easier and I am wanting to have control of my life again, and here I am, looking forward to week 2 next week
