Hi guys looking forward to getting to know you on your journeys. I'm the run leader for the C25K, I've just started this week and have taken 2 sessions so far. Everyone seems to be enjoying the experience and coping with the running.
I just wanted to say hello and find out if there are pitfalls I should look out for in the weeks to come, particularly in week 5 which seems to have a big jump in running time.
Thanks for taking time out to read my post.
Cheers Pete.

Do exactly what the programme tells you! If you take it slow and steady you'll find week 5 easily do-able and you will be on such a high after your first 20 minute run. I started in January and graduated yesterday. If an unfit 66 year old with arthritis and osteoporosis can do it, then any one can! Good luck with it and keep us posted on your progress.
There is a myth that there is a big jump in W5. If you look at the overall workout times you see that they actually reduce during W5. Each W4 workout is longer than each of the W5 workouts and you are running for the same total length of time in W4 as you do in W5R1 and W5R2.
W5R3 does increase the running interval, but is actually the shortest workout since W3.
Follow the program and you'll be fine. If you feel you are struggling a specific week, just do it again. It's not a race on how quickly you can finish the program, it's far more important that you truly enjoy the experience which is the start of a new lifestyle ๐
Take the excellent advice from IannodaTruffe ...each run, as he says follows the next... you are ready for each and every run...
The programme is about much more than just the act of running... different challenges and different learning scenarios in each week... simple as that Awareness of these different disciplines is really useful...no need to worry about them though.
Thanks for the guidence, I've been a runner for over 35 yrs but this is the first time I've lead a group (19 runners) from start to finish. It is so much harder trying to look after everyone's expectations than just your own. I'm looking forward to the challenge and I think the variety of the runs will keep them and me motivated. Thanks for your comments.
This programme is fantastic and it teaches you more than just how to run. Don't worry about w5, by the time you get them there they'll be able to do it. W6 r1 catches most out but it really is about taking each run as it comes and believing in the programme and ideally a bit of self belief too. ๐๐
