Hi everyone. Doing great! on wk8 r3 next but keep feeling like I’m coming down with something ( fluey) 48 hrs following a run. This started when I moved on to running longer and wondered if anyone else felt like me or had some advice?? I do have an healthy diet, I don’t count calories or cut back but wondered whether I was eating enough. I also started running in a morning before breakfast???
Any advice welcome x

Plenty of people run before breakfast, I'd say it's about 50/50 of those who can't run having eaten and those who can't run with an empty stomach so you're not alone there. It's possible that the fatigue you have is from not eating enough but if you haven't changed your dietry habits or taken up any other exercise, I think C25K alone makes it an unlikely suspect since it doesn't produce that much of a calorie deficit... but it depends how much you were eating before I guess! Hope you feel better
Thank you. I think I may be eating a little less since doing the c25k. Don’t really need to lose weight just tone. Appetite has decreased and I am choosing healthy options naturally. I was a little concerned due to having chronic fatigue 4 years ago. Thought running helped boost the immune system x
There was an article about running on an empty stomach being better for weight loss or men rather than women - here bbc.co.uk/programmes/articl...
TBH I was on a very low calorie diet and was still running 3 times a week, and only had an issue with one run which was on a very hot day (I know - hens' teeth) when my blood sugar went very low, which I corrected with half a banana. Your body will change fat and if necessary change protein into glucose to burn for fuel. I hope to start a low calorie diet again in April.
