A week off running

I got to wk 7 run 2 when the arthritis in my knees was so painful I had to stop. One week with no running I do not have even the slightest twinge when sitting or climbing the stairs, so I woke up this morning with a 'get back on the horse' feeling,

As I had no pain up until week 7, I am thinking to start back at week 5 and continue from there. Fingers crossed for me...

UPDATE : Got out and decided to redo week 6, felt wonderful to be running after a week off, onwards....

Why not just start back at week 7? You will not have lost conditioning in a week

I thought that, as I had no experienced pain during the first 6 weeks, that maybe itvwas the long run causing me trouble. To be honest, the thought of doing week 7 and having that pain back is frightening

Try week 7 and see how you go. Slow and steady and you may be surprised 😊

I think it's the fear of the pain again, it makes life difficult, thinking it was the 25 minute runs that aggregated my arthritis, so going back to 5 and 8 minute runs, with hopefully no pain, will either confirm or deny my suspicion

Hi Sarah, I'm in the same boat except I pulled a muscle at W7R2. I've had a week off but been doing some bottom exercises :) I feel like I want to go back a bit too. I think it's a confidence thing. Let us know how you get on xx
