Hi all! I completed Week 7 on Tuesday, but I’m now full of cold, in bed, and can’t start Week 8! Gutted! Haven’t even got the energy to get up and make anything more than a cuppa. Anyway, when I am back up and running, should I repeat Week 7, or go back even further? I guess going straight to Week 8 after a week off or so, isn’t a good idea? Any advice? Thanks x
Week 8 advice please!: Hi all! I completed Week... - Couch to 5K
Week 8 advice please!
If it was me, I’d do week 7 again, although it’s a 9 week course, doesn’t mean it has to be done in 9 weeks, get well soon and stop feeling guilty 🤧
So sorry for you Woods25k for having to stay in bed with what sounds like more than a cold, I think you have a bad doze of flu, all you can do is stay in bed and drink plenty of liquid, I just hope that it's not too long before you can get back to good health and restart your running.
You can't make that decision until you are fully recovered and know how long you have been away from running.
You lose next to no condition in the first couple of weeks, so can start back where you left off.
If you are out for longer, just try a run and see how you get on........that is what all runners have to do after a lay off.
Get well soon.
You should be fine as long as you’re not out for too long... get well soon.
Hope you feel better soon woods! Rest up. Come back when you feel healthy again. The runs aren’t going anywhere. See how you feel when you come back, if it 2weeks, pick up where you left off, if you don’t feel up to it, go back a week
I got to the end of week one few weeks ago and then got knee injury. Started again last Sunday w1r1 and Monday just like you came down with a horrible cold/throat infection. Hopefully tomorrow or Sunday I’m going to do r2. From what I’ve read if it’s less than 2 weeks you can carry on from where you left off. But if you feel you want/need to repeat then do so. Really hope you’re better soon. 😊
Thanks everyone, I feel encouraged by that!
Get well first and then head out where you left off... as IannodaTruffe says, we don't lose fitness that easily
Run gently and listen to your body..it will tell you if all is well!
Feel better soon
