Week 7 done - thank you Van Morrison

Had been feeling quite weary after three 25 minute runs in 5 days, so I took an extra rest day before W7R3 today. First 5 minutes hard but OK. Middle part of the run was better, and I almost felt as though I was in a proper rhythm!

The last 10 minutes seemed to go on for about half an hour!! When Sarah said 5 minutes to go I was flagging, but Van the Man sang "Come on girl, too late to stop now", so I didn't. The next track was "Come Running", so obviously I had to finish the run.

Delighted to have completed Week 7, but a bit nervous about W8 as I'm not sure I have another 3 minutes to give!

We shall find out in due course.......๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜€

Yes you have.... you are doing brilliantly:)

Taking extra rest is a good idea, and folk should take heed of your post... your legs are really finding their happy pace.

Very, very well done and as you move on, just keep that happy pace.. relax into the runs... and enjoy :)

Thank you Oldfloss

I am glad I took the extra rest day - this isn't a race, after all! On my rest days I did some of the exercises from the video you posted earlier this week - plank and flutter kicking, etc - very useful, thank you!

Thank you as always for the encouragement. I shall be starting Week 8 on Sunday, and will report back!

Gobsmacked to have got this far, to be honest! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

I love it when things like this happen! Unfortunately I had the opposite experience recently, when just as Florence was singing to me, in the midst of the crescendo of Shake it Out, right when I needed it most, I heard "it's always darkest before the..." but instead of the blasting inspiring chorus, my headphones died, which did make me laugh out loud I suppose.

I'm paranoid about my headphones dying - I'd be lost without the app telling me how long there is to go and when I can stop! x

I listen to Van the Man! Not for C25k though, I listened only to the dulcet tones of the podcaster (Laura in my case) and the weird Audiofuel music

I only switched to my own music once iโ€™d done C25k+ podcasts and moved onto Bridge to 10k podcasts with Sami Murphy

The Van Morrison one I have on my current run music is โ€œSweet Thingโ€, which makes me nostalgic ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes he's great - I needed mellow today rather than headbanging music, so he was just right to get me through! x

You are doing amazingly - can't wait to hear how you get on on Sunday - I will be running my last wk 7 run on Sunday so I am right behind you. Keep going - I find playlists are so important and really get me through.

Thank you so much! Bit nervous about Sunday but I've recovered some of the enthusiasm I had until recently. Week 7 has felt like a bit of a grind, but I'm now keen to see if I can handle Week 8! As you say, the music is key, as is the app and this forum!

Best of luck with completing Week 7 - you'll be in Week 8 before you know it! Happy running. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘

You know you can really. Somehow when the weeks tick over we're pretty much ready for the advances. You will be too. Good idea on the extra rest day, sometimes we just need it ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿค—

Thank you JoJo for reminding me that attitude is all! I can do it (hopefully).

You must be close to graduation, so go girl! I hope to join you on the podium in a few weeks.

Thanks as ever for your encouragement. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

When are you running next? Iโ€™m a bit nervous about Wk8 ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Iโ€™ve planned my route to add on the extra 3mins to try and mentally prepare myself ๐Ÿ˜œ

Well, I'm running on Sunday morning, and I have to say that I haven't planned my route yet, and I need to do so. Because today I tried a different route and ended up running backwards and forwards over part of the route because I hadn't worked out the distance beforehand.

However, I don't really care as long as I do the time! Good luck with your run - let's compare notes on Sunday. x

Haha thatโ€™s funny! I kind of worked out a route for Wk7 that Iโ€™ve stuck to the last 3 runs, I think if I turn left instead of right at one point it will add enough minutes on for me. If not Iโ€™ll get go round the park a few times ๐Ÿ˜œ

Enjoy your rest day, have a fab run on Sunday and letโ€™s catch up then x
