Just done W2R1 and it was great. Thoroughly enjoyed it (I left two rest days this time on account of a very sore shin).
Thinking that my dodgy trainers are not up to the task. Considering buying some new ones. As my name implies, I ride motorbikes and spend most of my spare cash on motorbike stuff and am reluctant to spend on expensive trainers. Can anyone suggest where to start looking/what sort to get. I read somewhere that you can get your gait checked. Isn’t that a “horse” term 😂😂😂😉
Obviously a complete novice so any ideas would be welcome. I’m in North East England so if anyone local can recommend somewhere that’d be great. Thanks in advance.

Neither did I! I was shocked when my 4.5 size feet left the shop with 5.5 trainers! I never would have left that much room but he was spot on. I can see where my feet have been since in the shoes and I use all that space in the toe. 👍
You probably already spend a lot out on motorcycle gear (I know about it I've had many bikes) to do motorcycling safely and comfortably, so, if you want to do running and do that safely and comfortably why not fork out on a decent pair of trainers, they are a necessity..but they needn't cost the earth, my wife got a pair for £35 in a sale, you can get a free gait analysis and fitting in most reputable running shops, but you're not obliged to buy, you can shop around..😊
I've had that Beemer! Great bike so well balanced, The new Honda looks great for the commute. I've had many various bikes, sportsbikes such as XBR500, CBR600, TRX850, Ducati 750ss had fueling problems with that, but when it was running it rode fantastically, BMW f650, then more touring with Yamaha XJ900 Diversion, VFR800, BMW R1150RT and R1200RT and toured on the continent, southern Norway, Scotland..was great going over the Swiss Alps and down to Italy.. these are just some I've had, with the odd scooter for work, but haven't ridden for about 5 years now, just have a Suzuki Intruder 125 stored not running, bought cheap off a mate, generally good condition but needs some engine work..
