I’ve finally completed my WK9R2 run early this morning, having delayed my graduation week whilst I continue to nurse and rest my painful left foot. I’ve embraced the much welcomed advice from fellow forum members on here and been using a night splint, which has proved to be very helpful with the pain first thing in the morning.
I am hoping to graduate later this week and then I am considering reducing the frequency of my runs until my foot is fully healed (wishful thinking).
I also went for gait analysis yesterday and was given lots of great advice in relation to my style of running and the recommendation of suitable trainers with better arch support for my rather flat feet. I have finally treated myself to a great new pair of trainers which felt like a dream when running this morning.
I’ve noticed over this past week how much I would miss running, yet also become better aware of how vulnerable to injury we can all be and to not over stretch myself. Going forward, I intend to listen to my body and perhaps be a little kinder to myself.
Graduation......I’m coming to get you!!!!!
