Back Again. Week 1, Day 1.

Nearly 2 years ago I reached the final stages of the Couch 2 5k challenge. Unfortunately, after beginning to suffer pain in my feet and my thighs I was told by my doctor that I had a combination of problems. Including, flat feet, a trapped nerve and a muscular injury that hadn’t healed properly, and I was ordered to stop running until told otherwise. In December I completed physio and was given the all clear to run again. However, due to the darker days, a lack of motivation, and a slight fear that I might hurt myself, I’ve not ventured back out. Today though something inside of me clicked... I’ve spent several months wishing I could go out and run, so why am I not out there running? Plus, I realised that if I don’t get off my arse now then I never will. So, today I pulled on my running gear and I completed Week 1, Day 1. :D And my god it feels good to be back!

Brilliant! Very well done to you for taking the plunge and getting back out there. You've had a lot to contend by the sounds of things, but you've almost done this once before and you can get back there again. Take it easy, slower than slow is the way to go! You'll do great, good luck.

Great to be back, isn't it? A bunch of us have been through injury fun and re-did the entire program.

If l ruled the world l would make the program re-run compulsory after every two years. That and the driving test. Those who resist are the ones with something to hide.
