W6 R2 with hubby

Well that was different! My hubby is super actual dooper fit so when he said he’d run with me today, I was a little worried I would have to push myself too much. However he dutifully ran behind me so that I could set the pace - that being half the speed he would usually run! Well it was hard let me tell you, that second 10 mins was all up hill. But I did it Yeay !

Well done.

Running with your other half is a joy........if they are well behaved.

Keep running, keep smiling.

Thanks Ian, yes it was good, and did a new route which helped.

My husband is an experienced and fast runner while I am new and slow. If we go out together he checks what my route will be and then runs in loops around me, meeting up to make encouraging noises now and then. That works really well for both of us - both going at our own pace, no pressure and friendly, encouraging meeting points. 😀

That’s a good idea! Yes the pressure would be too much if we ran together a lot, but I think this may be an occasional run 😊

Well done... remember that these lovely longer runs are intended to be enjoyed... relax into them, let the newly found running legs find their own happy pace:)

Thanks Oldfloss, I had those words going around in my head along with’ kiss the ground with your feet’ and ‘take it slow’ 😁...it all helps, all the advice on here.

That’s ace - and very supportive of your husband. I took my hubby to parkrun today and could have cheerfully throttled him. A ‘non-runner’, this was only his second attempt, and he pootled around, gabbing away merrily, as I huffed and puffed red-faced beside him. Then with 1km to go, he shot off towards the finish line, smashing every hard-won time I’ve ever achieved in the process. And then had the nerve to gloat about it!!! 😡 It’s a blinking good job I love him! 😂
