I'm in Wk6 and I've think I've learnt a few lessons:
1. Run slowly!
2. Breath deeply through your mouth if you want too!
3. Take short steps.
4. Stand up straight - eyes on a landmark far in the distance, not on your feet.
5. Buy decent running shoes.
6. Remembering that it's a marathon, not a race, makes a big difference!
7. Go back to 1 and repeat
I am an obese middle aged male (who hates lycra!) and I am loving this journey! I may not when the weather starts heating up but by then I should have shifted some of the extra weight I'm carrying.
My running style is so low impact that I recover from my runs very quickly thus leaving me impatient for the next level.
I hope someone finds these words inspiring - I'll probably get them engraved on my gravestone!

No. 1: there is no thing as too slow and even though I huff and puff I'm not short of breath at the end of my run. I only wish I'd known this when we had to run to "the pig farm" and back when I was at boarding school in Cornwall!
Great post Enxo! I will take your words of wisdom and put them to good use as a newbie runner (began week 1 on Sunday!) Enjoy your running this week! Best wishes.
I’m going to try number 4 today. I usually look down as I don’t want to be seen but maybe looking toward a landmark might help me. I’ve done 6 runs in 2 weeks repeating week 1 and 2/6 of those I didn’t do the whole 8mins therefore I’m repeating again but a change of tactic to look up might help me move on to wk2 next week. I can but try. Thank you
