W7R2 and had my first ‘practice’ run this morning (I know the word failure is not allowed here 🤫) started off with a series of problems (wardrobe malfunction, head phones not working) and just couldn’t get in a happy consistent pace. Decided to stop after ten minutes, sort the problems, catch my breath and start again with a better pace. Ran about another 10 mins but was thinking what was the point as I wasn’t going to be able to record this as a completed run. Stopped and walked home 🙁. Despite this Endomundo tells me I ran my fastest mile so far and upped my average pace by 0.5km. Probably why I didn’t make it.
Ah well, mark that one up to experience and as my husband and head cheerleader said, better than not getting out at all.
Happy Sunday all xx

Really try to keep it slow and steady... the pace upping can cause problems.. and in these lovely longer runs..it is simply great to let the legs take you along and just relax into the run
Yay for cheerleading hubbys, they make the world of difference don't they? It's all perspective, you ran for a full 10 minutes, 7 weeks ago you would probably be ecstatic at that - I think sometimes we forget just how far we've come!
That said, I'm so with you on the technical problems, had 2 in a row recently and had a similar reaction to yourself: hacked off when really I shouldn't have been. On paper most people would have said the last one was spectacular, PBs all over the place and crucially not a physical problem at all. Yet I was grumpy as heck because the technical gremlins stressed me out! I It removed any doubt I had that they key thing *for me* is to be in a happy place.
I had exactly the same problem. It's a shock isn't it when you get to one that initially defeats you. But we know we can do this, bring on the next attempt!
