Tonight I braved the cold and did week 3, run 2.

Did it fine on Monday, but tonight my leg muscles felt tighter (maybe due to coldness) and towards the end of my cool down walk, I developed pins and needles in my feet (more so in the left)

Any advice? Anyone else experienced this in your runs? I have no idea what to do lol

Thanks all X

Hi Jeb,

this used to happen to me when I first started. Don't have your laces too tight, but do double knots. I think my problem was I needed running shoes a half size bigger than my normal shoe size as your feet swell up as you run and didn't realise, looser laces helped.

Once I got new shoes the problem went away.

Hope this is helpful.😊x

Will have to try this. I do tie my laces quite right as thought would run better if foot not loose in them. I'm hoping it is just this and that the problem resolves as really enjoying my running. The tingling has gone now but leg muscles still tight and foot still doesn't feel quite right. Have applied some heat rub, so hopefully this will resolve after some rest. Thank you very much Jan-now-runs.

Keep an eye on this. Do you do stretches after your warm down walk while your muscles are still warm.

Take care😊x

Hi Jeb I get burning and tightness in my legs also, I’m on week 5, I was advised when I’m sitting at home to do the alphabet with my feet, I get to ‘R’ and it hurts lol but I’m persevering I hope this helps x x

Hi Denise, you have done so well to get to week 5! I'm looking at week 4 now and thinking how hard it looks! Will try the alphabet too! Thank u x

Did you get a gait analysis? I did and got properly fitted shoes. Then i bought a second pair but different brand online - and guess what, some makes come up smaller. Didn't realise till the runs got longer and my toes began to go numb. It was worse on the right because my right foot is a bit bigger. Just a thought.

Hi FlickM3, I am going to get a fair analysis today. So see what they say - taking my current pair of trainers with me too. Thank u

It rather sounds like your shoes are either too tight, too small or both. It is definitely worth investing in good running shoes after having a gait analysis. Shoes are the single most important piece of kit for runners, followed closely by a good sports bra for us females 😃

Hi Millsie-J, thanks for your reply. Going to get a gait analysis today. Hopefully this will resolve it :-)
