I was a bit tired this AM. A bit cold out. A bit rushed for time. My gear a bit scattered around the hacienda....
Thought of taking an extra Rest Day....but then thought better of it.
I never gave up a good habit "today"...it was always the "I'll do it tomorrow" that knackered me. Good intentions aren't enough
So, out the door and really was panting and gasping the first few runs, but if course when the last run segment was over I really had to restrain myself from running on
Programme works if you work it
One tenth of my way back to 10k - but who's counting Lol ๐

Good for you, thatโs great. How is the hip holding up?
Good on you for getting out and talking yourself out of an extra rest day! Thatโs half the battle. Extra rest days can be good sometimes though - if your motivation for the extra day is an honourable one. Glad to hear that the hip is behaving, John. x
It's kind of scary how the lure of saying inside a warm house can be so powerful even though I know better. It reminded me of how tough it is to be a newcomer doing the programme - no wonder we lose as many runners as we do
It really is a mental effort far more than a physical one to keep on keeping on. And most of that is the "simply gear up and go out the door". Those few minutes really do make the difference between being a runner and not - not the actual run.
Just my meandering musing of course
Thank you for your kind words Sadie and it's nice to be Running with you
Too true John, too true. It took me a while to learn that the first time around, so I do feel more prepared this time as I build back up. I did R2 of W5 this morning, and although I knew I could do it, I had to dig deep - I was competing with my mind! Felt lovely to have completed it. ๐
Itโs nice to be running with you too - am so happy for you to be out there again! x
Way to go, IrishJohn! You're right that good intentions are not enough... if they were, I'd be a multi-millionaire, not to mention an amazing athlete I'm cheering for you, from all the way across The Pond. xo
Thank you Henrietta And if those good intentions were indeed enough - you would know me as Mr. Welsh, having taken Raquel's surname, and Kate Bush would be World Champion Darts Player ๐
