Pain in sort of left hip/groin and pain in neck! But despite the frosty conditions run done will have to see if I’m ready for r3 Sunday or maybe longer rest. Will continue to walk on rest days to keep steps up. Week 5 doesn’t look too bad 🤔

Are you stretching after runs? and gently stretch that area giving niggles..

Maybe not sufficiently - not sure whether to do a lighter run on Sunday or wait a day or two and just walk 🤔 the neck is stiff now and groin just a bit painful - just cycled back from croquet, jolly cold out there !

Are you carrying something in one hand leading to neck pain? Also be sure your arms move forward/back not across your body.

No I’m hands free but I do get neck trouble and any stress ends up there. I will focus on making sure hands are going back and forth - anything that helps 👍

try not to hunch up when running, hang loose with shoulders back chest out, looking up ahead, but of course scanning the ground directly ahead as well for potholes, bumps, tree roots etc.. maybe shoulders get knotted with stress affecting neck, massage shoulders..

Good afternoon, yes, it certainly is cold out there, have just got back from a walk..

warming up, running slow and steady and stretching are all key to you not getting injured, see how you are on Sunday, never try and run through pain, it will probably fade away if you do as said, the runs can wait, your health is top priority..

take care!

You’re right getting to 5k with no injuries is my main goal - it doesn’t actually hurt when I run, sets in when I stop. Thank you for good advice 👍

your first goal is to run for 30mins, thats the main object here, and keep doing that for a short while after graduation then think about 5k..
