Hi GezT and well done for starting this great program.. It works and your stamina and confidence grows with every run session.

Yes, as long as you take at least one day's rest from running between sessions thats fine..

Go for it tonight!😊

There is a wealth of information about following the program available here which you might be interested in checking out.

Go for it. I'm 50 this year and started the program last summer and completed it in October. Loved it.

Rule number 1: Take it nice and slow and keep it slow. No thining you have to go racing off. Do it at your own pace and keep it slow.

Rule number 2: no matter how great and excited you are it is vital to have the rest day between runs.

Rule number 3: read rule number 1 again.

The plan tells you to have a rest day between runs, for good reasons.

When you run you create micro tears in your muscles which repair and strengthen on your rest days, not while running. No rest, no repair, increased injury risk.

You will do your running more good by doing some non impact exercise on your rest days, such as swimming, cycling, weights, yoga etc.

Read the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... which will answer many of your questions.

Enjoy your journey.

I think there's some confusion with the grammar in your post so people can't tell if you meant that you ran on Monday, and felt okay on Tuesday (presumably not running), and want to run tonight, or that you ran on Monday and Tuesday and feel okay so want to run tonight?

Anyway, a big welcome to the programme, it's a good 'un and well done on starting. As others have said, always take your rest days as they help you get stronger as much as your running days do. If you ran Monday and Tuesday, do not run again tonight, but if you last ran on Monday, good luck with your run and enjoy it!

Thanks for all the welcomes and advice :) Sorry for the confusion , I did in fact have a rest day on Tuesday so I will be just running tonight . Mentally I am very ready to go running and to get back in shape , its definitely not a January thing :)

Thanks again everyone
