50 something time to sort myself

Hi quick intro

I’m a 52yr old overweight male who as realised I have to start taking care of myself.

I stopped drinking alcohol on 1st October with no plans to restart due to the fact I’m an all or nothing person (can’t just have 1 drink)

I’ve recently joined the gym and I’m really enjoying it not just for my physical health but more my mental health, any way last week I downloaded the couch to 5k app which led to this page which hopefully should lead to a better me !!

I’ll keep you posted on my progress

David

Good luck Dave. I’m in a similar boat and got gout (yeah, gout!) before Christmas and thought I now needed to change my ways and live a better healthier life. Want to lose some timber but most of all, want to feel properly alive and healthy again.

Good for you 😊

I have just completed week 2 - can hardly believe it.

Giving up drinking is massive, really well done, your body must be thanking you for that already.

If you want support for losing weight, the NHS weight loss site (sister site to c25k) is amazing 😊 I have lost over 6 stone with help from there ☺️

Good luck on your running 🏃 journey, look forward to updates 👍 ☺
