Week 1 in the bag! take 2

W1r3 last night. My training partners (my young sons) weren't keen, and I did think about giving it a miss, but somehow I decided to go anyway. In the end my 6 year old came with me. He said (bless him) "You are amazing Mummy, especially as you haven't run for 30 years!" I had to correct him: 29 years and 51 weeks now :-) :-)

I'm still ultra slow - he even managed to walk for some of the time I was "running" - but I don't care, it's the taking part that counts!

Week 2 starts tomorrow...eek!

Ha, well done Redyoyo, your son is right 'you are amazing'....especially for starting this program and completing week 1.

Speed is of no importance, just concentrate on keeping going for the run sections nice and steady...

Good luck with wk2 (less runs 😉) you can do it.😊x

You are setting a great example to your children and you will all benefit.

Have you read this guide to the plan? healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it may help.

Oh what an inspiration you are to your children. I wish I could get my boys out running with me, but they are of an age where won't be seen out with a lycra-clad mother!

It's great that you're doing this - it isn't only the physical benefits, but also the feeling of satisfacton and pride you get every time you compete a run. And with your family showing you such wonderful support, you are sure to go far!

Thanks RuthMargaret for your lovely words. My eldest will only come in the dark but my little one is being very supportive and is great at carrying my water bottle, lol. I'm looking forward to week 2 :-)
