Wow. So I've just run week 1 run 3 and that seemed the hardest. I didn't have the pushchair with me so it could have been that I guess or am I maybe pushing myself more? It's not my mental approach - yet - I got up and left family in bed whilst I ran, well jogged lol. It is a beautiful way to start a day. But I'm sweating loads this morning and feel like I've done more.
I guess I'm just asking is this normal and what should I wear? I might be overlayering lol. Thanks guys. I did it anyhow. Here's to week 2! X

Wear as little as you need to be warm enough. And run as slowly as you can... everyone says it’s not a race, and as your length of time running increases, you’ll be glad you run slowly.... once you can run for 30 mins, you can look at speeding up if you want to?
Not pushing the pushchair probably means you didn’t pace yourself quite so well. The pushchair weight would slow you down naturally ( but would also take more energy).
Just remember to go slow and steady at all times. You are doing great!
Light layers. It will feel cold as you step out of the door but once you are moving the body warms up. Look for wicking material type sports tops. They have them in most supermarket /fitness sections or places like Sports Direct. A cotton tshirt is heavy and doesnt let the skin breathe but the wicking tops soak up the sweat and also breathe to stop you overheating.
For the space, goes as slow as you can. Pretty much just above a walk. Everyone thinks of the word 'run' and thinks they have to go hell for leather. Nice and slowly wins the day. This program is all about building up fitness and stamina over a period of time.
Well done completing Wk1 Claire, that’s the hard bit done 😊
Re layers, personally, if I wear more than a T shirt and shorts, I overheat. If it’s less than 3deg I wear my jacket during warm up then tie it round my waist once I’m up and running...or should I say jogging 😱😜
I read somewhere that if you add 10 degrees that is about right for an idea of what to wear. Having said that I was out in tee shirt and running top with full length leggings. Just right for 4 degrees here in Norfolk but was very warm by time I finished my 4K run 😜
If ever I give in to how cold I feel before a run and wear extra layers I end up way too hot - I run in full length leggings and a thin long-sleeve running top. The only bits that need extra are the extremities so I wear a running headband that covers my ears and also running gloves.
