Really chuffed

Week 7 Day 1 run yesterday. Apart from a minor blip around 5 minutes, when I felt I could never run for the full 25 minutes, it was fine. Ran really slowly and slightly embarrassed to slowly creep past several walkers, but resisted the temptation to speed up. Now impatiently ‘resting’ today, and dying to get back out there tomorrow 😄

Put some exercise in today then....lots to go at to keep you interested and to contribute to your running too; core strength and stamina is even more essential as the runs get longer..:)

Well done you...:)

Well done, I like the image of your slow ninja overtake :) Seems like you are addicted to running!

Well done!

Take a look at the last item on this post, it tells you why the first 10 minutes is always harder... the toxic ten.

Once you understand about this you can focus on getting through it......even the great Mo experiences the same problems 😀👍🏼

Yes, really interesting. I’m guessing that one of the reasons for the 5 min brisk walk at the start is to get the aerobic systems kicking in. Might try walking faster!

Woohooooo, Ruth! I, like you, am very slow but I've read we can work on being able to run for 30 minutes first, THEN we can think about trying to work on our pace. You're doing everything right, girl. Go, you!

The first 5 -8mins is still a killer for me can't getting my breathing right but by 10mins I start to feel breathing has eased and I only feel leg ache or more like legs working should I say. I definitely can understand that it is a mental game now with the longer runs. Once I know I'm half way through I seem to just keep myself determined to every 5 minutes then the next. I just hope I can improve on the pace as still feel slow.
