C25k or go for 10k app: Hi I used to run but... - Couch to 5K
C25k or go for 10k app
Hello Lizmck,
Sounds like you're fit enough to try the 10k app! If you feel ready, I'd say give it a go by all means! If you don't like how the 10k plan is laid out, you can always do C25K and later extend it to 10K.....
All the very best!
Hi there and welcome
Start with C25K..it is the only guaranteed way to get running again, safely, injury free and enjoyably I thought I was fit, ( cycling, swimming, walking etc), when I started this in 2015...but like many of us.. discovered not!
Download the app and follow it carefully. making sure you take the rest days, putting in extra non-impact on those days...

Hitting a 10K app, too soon can be very strenuous... so best start gently and enjoy the journey
Check this post and the links out, and then begin..it is a great journey and this is a great forum, this advice, support and really great folk!

You will enjoy getting back to it and we would love to have you here... and after Graduation..the journey goes on
I'd do the c25k but start a little way into it and if you find a week very easy just move onto the next week for the following run. I don't know where the 10k apps start as they all vary, but the bridge to 10k is 4x10mins with 1 min walking breaks, so that is quite a lot if you haven't done 3 miles+ yet.
Hey Liz - Welcome. C25K is a plan/programme - to get the full benefit, start at the beginning and work to the end. And then move onto 10K if you wish. Even if the first few weeks seem easy for your fitness level, it gets you into the routine - plus it’s fun.
I would do C25K - if I had been fitter when I started it I could have done the run sections faster, but think I would still have had benefit from it. You may find the early weeks a tad easy but each week builds on the previous one.
