Last weekend should have been my graduation park run, according to the training calendar I set up, however due to hurting my lower back throwing some awesome shapes on the dance floor recently, (70’s & 80’s night!!) I have been out of action for the last three ish weeks...
Been to the doctors today and says I need to rest it for at least another two week!! Annoyed, frustrated and p***ed off with myself!!
Having been out for so long what would the advice be from the seasoned runners... I was up to Week 7 run 3... my thinking at the moment is to rewind a couple of weeks and repeat from the start of week 5 ...
Thoughts??

Well, yeah, l can relate to it to an extent. I got badly injured on my graduation run, spent months off running and then had to repeat the entire program, the whole show from W1R1. Effectively, l graduated twice.
Tbh, once l figured out that in my fifties l stood zero chance of representing the country at the next World Championship, the whole re-run made my legs and stamina even stronger. At the end of the day, why should we push things around anyway? No rush, in my case.
Now I'm working my way up towards half marathon with no rules, pressure, local runs, time frame or any constrains of any description. And why should there be any in the first place?
Doing lots of stretching and swimming at the moment so hoping to get back at it by Christmas but don’t want to go to early and cause more issues, you are right thought but being very cautious
Sorry to hear about the back, but what's done is done, no point in dwelling on it and thinking about what should have been, which just makes you feel worse..
Wouldn't go right back to w1, would try what IannodaTruffe has said...
Thanks Dave, not dwelling on it, just feel like an idiot in getting here in the first place... was a great night out though lol ... only looking to roll back a couple of weeks, will probably try a couple of 10min runs first and test the waters
Thanks Helen .... not sure the moves were that impressive, must remember that I am no longer in my 20’s !! and doing the “running man” is a young mans game lol...
