Set off on a damp bleak morning to start W8. Took about 10mins to get into my stride but once there, had a comfortable 28min run listening to music for the first time 🎢....always been a bit dubious about running with earplugs in, a bit wary about not hearing traffic and cyclists. However, it pleasantly passed the time with the odd interruption from MJ 😊

My ave pace improved from Saturday, not intentionally I might add, from 12.23 to 11.55min/ml so getting stronger.

This programme is amazing and so are you people here on the forum, I couldn’t have got this far without the encouragement you have all given me over the weeks πŸ€“

Happy running all πŸƒπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Well done! You can wear just one ear plug so you have one ear cocked at all times

You’re doing great. Keep plugging slowly away! β˜οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ‘πŸ™‚

Thanks misswobble. Tried one plug but mine are Bluetooth and joined so annoying with one dangling as I run πŸ™„

I just have the volume down 😊

misswobbleGraduate in reply to TedG

I don’t have a dangly bit, I tuck it down my vest πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘

Good choice of words πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Well done Ted πŸ‘πŸΌ I always run with only 1 earplug in as it means I can hear traffic, other runners etc 😊

Thanks Kim, I’m enjoying the programme, roll on next week and graduation πŸŽ“

Well done, just 5 more runs to go.

TedGGraduate in reply to ChrisAllen1

Thanks Chris, can’t wait πŸŽ“πŸ˜Š

Nicely done I am with misswobble on this, do it with one earplug in, it’s a lot safer....

Oh and Mr Smooth starts leaving to your own devices, it’s his way of saying you don’t need him anymore...

Happy running, 5 to go til graduation

Starting my wk 8 after work tonight,so will be bleak, damp and dark tonight, but soooo enjoying C25K now!!! Look forward to Jo Whileys encouragement and advice. Don't want it too end!! Well done TEDG!!!

Thanks KIMMYRUN, good luck tonight πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Well done on a great start to wk8, Ted. It certainly wasn't the most inviting weather for heading out today; bleak and damp here too. I've just done wk7r2 and didn't fancy it much to be honest, but once out in the elements it was OK.

I like to run with music, but then I'm lucky to run on footpaths well away from traffic and other people most of the time. I agree you need to be very aware though. I set my iTunes to shuffle and see what turns up - doesn't have to be be a banging beat; had some Eagles and Simon & Garfunkel today (as well as Prince, Free, Chris Rea and the Dixie Chicks). I don't get much opportunity to listen to music nowadays, so running is my new 'me time' now. What do you listen to?

Enjoy the rest of wk8 - you're doing great ...

Got to be honest, I had to force myself this morning and like you, was glad I did.

Re music, I like most music and today.....wait for it....I fancied some Johnny Mathis, showing my age 😱

Probably be a bit of Pink Floyd on Weds 😊

Well done on today’s run πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

I had Pink Floyd’s β€˜Run’ (the live version) a couple of runs ago, which made me smile 😊. Rock on, Ted! πŸ€˜πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ 🎢

Very well done.... turn the earplugs down... take it slow take it steady, ( your comfy pace)... and you are on the way to that podium!

Thank you oldfloss, 5 to go finishing with the 5k πŸƒπŸƒπŸ˜ŠπŸŽ“

Well done!! πŸ˜€ Week 8 for me tomorrow too! Might go out very early in morning! Don’t think I could do it without my music! Mentally preparing myself already!! πŸ˜‚

Well done, graduation is in sight :)

TedGGraduate in reply to Geo-Lesley

Thanks Lesley I’m supposed to be running to today but the Bike Show at NEC takes precedence this time. Early run tomorrow now πŸ˜ŠπŸƒπŸƒ

Geo-Lesley in reply to TedG

Oh, yes. I agree. I loved the Norton Commando, all black and chrome, the early Laverdas, the Triumphs and the Kawasakis. There is a beauty about the early bikes that modern ones lack. A friend who lives in India now collects old bikes which he finds there and renovates them. Have fun
