After a stonker of a run last Friday, I was hoping for more of the same this morning but mentally, I knew I was in a different mind set. Feeling a bit lazy I guess
So, I took my time, concentrated on shortening my stride, taking smaller steps and taking the pressure off my body and all in all, it was fine, no complaints and just a bit meh! My breathing - and lack of puffing and panting - still amazes me, small wins make me happy This run was much slower than last Friday but I was consistent and I felt really comfortable. I guess somedays I feel like pushing myself and other days I don't.
Today was definitely a 'take it easy with Cadbury's caramel' kind of feeling...…. return of the sloth!!
Came home, stretched and just made a batch of my homemade 'Carli's Crustless Mini Quiche Bites' (my keto post run snack) made using a muffin tin..... yum yum!
Hope the rest of the Week 8 gang have great runs, keep the faith and keep slogging. To anyone else starting out, remember there will be strong days and not so strong days, but no day is a bad day, it's just a bit meh!! xx
Well done!! I’m going out for mine this afternoon. The key things in your post are your breathing being easier and the fact that you can do a 28 minute run and take it easy. Since we keep being told that it’s distance and not speed that improves stamina I’ll take that positive from your post!
Well done Burkey ✅ One step closer to graduation. Those quiche bites sound lovely but you’ve got me craving a Cadbury’s Caramel now! Loved that bunny! 😄
I just love reading your posts. Please put them into a book for all those following this programme in the future!!!! It would be a best seller for sure.
As the old adage says - slow and steady wins the race - but you are just knocking these runs out of the park.
Well done. You should feel very proud of what you've achieved so far and I couldn't agree with VPOLLIE67 more in terms of your posts. Very inspiring for all
Very Monday-ish is a good way to describe some runs but like you say, there are highs and lows throughout this process. Glad you've hit your comfortable stride though and best of luck for run 2 🙂
I bloody love a Caramel. And a Crunchie to be fair. Double-Deckers are pretty good too. Oh and Aero, they’re sublime. So is a Snickers. Not to mention a Star Bar. Sheesh I need to stop. I haven’t had a choc bar in about 3 months!
My consumption of chocolate has gone way down: a few squares of dark chocolate every few days. My weight is very very slowly dropping. I'm down approx 4.5kg on my worst of about 6 months ago. Not quite back at my optimum when I was walking a mile to grab a sandwich every weekday lunchtime for 18 months about six/seven years ago, but closer to that than I was.
