04:30 Mojo Magic!! πŸ€—

Well, hello my lovely running family!!

But, alas, I did not run at 04:30am, oh nooooo, but I had the urge to. All my inner feelings and urges of wanting to run just appeared. They say it's when you least expect it and I did not expect it at that time of the morning πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

But just before midday, I was preparing myself for my run, planning my route and hoping for the best. I charged my phone and earphones before hand and set astride, haha.

I only listened to my music and did a very brisk 5 minute warm up before starting off slowly. It was a breezy morning, with the skies just waiting to open up and pour down.

I felt quite chilly starting off, but soon built up a very glowing face, chest and arms for all the traffic to see. I didn't care, I've lost that feeling of what people think, it soon goes. I just think that I'm doing good by exercising, whilst others drive past in their vehicles, heehee ☺️

I made it to town, but had to stop and start several times, with a few minutes of walking, sometimes just a minute of walking in between. I need to build up my stamina again, so if that's what is required, then I'll do it. I've resigned to not beating myself up anymore over not doing a straight 30 minutes, if I can't do, I can't do it.

But boy, I felt so much better mentally after arriving home and was so glad my mojo returned in the early hours and held on until I got up.

I wore these fab socks as seen in pic, it was either Oldfloss or someone else who recommended them. They're incredibly thin, but do the job and don't leave my feet sweating.

My pace is still so slow. Strava just displays the whole time I was out, but Fitbit shows 25 plus minutes of running, there were walking stints with that, but I paused my run when this occurred. I did 4.1 miles which included brisk power walking. How I will ever get to a 7km pace, I'll never know, but I guess there's plenty of time for that. Slow I'll have to be πŸ˜„

I felt very cold when I arrived home though and not particularly quite right, maybe I should have wrapped up when out, but I was sooo hot. Maybe I should have put a long sleeves top on when I got home, but I showered a short while after a late lunch and changed into my pj's and felt better then πŸ˜ƒ

I can only thank ALL concerned for all of your mojo help, advice, encouragement and just pure fab friendliness. I appreciate you all, you certainly showed your companionship, team fellowship and kindness, doing your virtual running in trying to boost my mojo. Thank you all 😘😘 xx

Listened to a favourite track, which is excellent beat for running too:

Long may it continue, slothly but surely day by day ☺️

So glad your mojo returned (bet you'd put it under your pillow for safe keeping) and you got yourself out there, glowing, slow, whatever it doesn't matter.

When I see other runners now I just think "AWESOME" whatever they look like and however they're running and I don't give a rats arse as to how I look for IAM A RUNNER

Haha, I think you're right rolysmate lol, I felt a bit of a knock on my head from under my pillow and there it was with me all the time πŸ˜‚

I try to keep my head high and a good, but relaxed posture when running and just think knickers to everyone passing by, lol.

Great to hear you're back on the road, quirkybee. Just getting out there and doing the distance is brilliant. Never mind about speed, it can come later.

I'm amazed and delighted at the value of this forum. I've never taken part in one before and, like you, draw a lot of encouragement and good advice from it. By the way, are you over 50 (your cardio fitness thing)? You don't look it!

Good luck for the next stage. Keep posting.

Ah, thank you ruralfrance yes, it's best to just get out there and run. Everyone is lovely on here, so supportive and helpful. I've been on and joined many hobby forums over time for horses, photography and my arts and crafts etc, they have all been fab people. This forum is superb though, such solidarity throughout.

Yes, I turned 50 earlier this month haha. Thank you for the comment,😊 I don't feel it and I don't act it either though, lol. Just a pity I am 50. My stats were only on the average mark when I had my Fitbit, so I'm amazed my fitness has increased.

It started with lots of walking initially, together with 10,000 steps each day through a June, for a challenge I did for Cancer Research. That was a tough one, especially when my daily job didn't allow all of those steps, I had to do more when I got home, but it was beautiful weather in June, so that was a bonus. I shall keep posting in my madness, lol x

Wow! Well done I am very pleased for you. Out there again and enjoying it. Your stats are incomprehensible to me but that is of no consequence - you ran!

quirkybee profile image
quirkybeeGraduateβ€’ in reply toKoKo30

Ah, thank you KoKo30 😊I've got different stats on my Strava, because that showed the whole time I was moving and running, so it's not accurate. It was good when I did the solid runs, plus I only use it as it shows the Relive video afterwards, which is good πŸ˜‚

Now, my Fitbit is the best, but it shows your location and I'm a little unsure of showing that on a public forum, or does it matter? I don't know where I can get a different graph to upload. Any ideas, please let me know lovely, or whether there is another app for the purpose of just stats without exact location history?

I don't see many uploads showing the location history, which is why I wondered about it. πŸ€”πŸ€” Thank you again x

I am useless on technology. I found Strava awful initially, it didn't work or worked when I hadn't asked it to, so tried Map my Run but that kept cutting out so back to Strava which seems to like me now! I wouldn't even know how to upload it onto this site even I wanted to but I do like it when other people do. It does record location which for me I like. I was going to get a fitbit but have seen a lintelek tracker for a lot less money with good reviews so might treat myself, 8 months a runner! Cant really believe I am even considering this purchase!

quirkybee profile image
quirkybeeGraduateβ€’ in reply toKoKo30

That's sounds good idea though, might as well try it. Strava displays the share icon, which then directs you to other apps, but for here, in the past I've just screenshot it and uploaded it as an attachment. I'm still struggling to find out how to upload the Relive video through Strava. πŸ™„

I have those very socks, and they are indeed fab. i had been wearing them for several runs before I realised they were leftie/rightie socks!

Love the rest of your post. So inspiring to see what happens after the course.

Hi Hidden thanks for commenting 😊yes, aren't they good these old socks? I have to double check ref the left and right though too, haha. 😊

I am glad to see you out there running and smiling. The mojo is a strange, elusive beast. I find its best to ignore it...Head out even if I can't find it. Mojo usually catches me up at some point and runs alongside me :)

Thank you ju-ju- πŸ€—

Now please tell me what is a buff? Sorry to appear dim.... Is it one of those loose material bands that go around the neck? Shoot me..... I'm being thick, lol.

I was fine out running as I get very hot quickly, no matter what the weather is like, it was about 10 mins after when I cool down and that cold clammy chill sets in, ewww, lol. Thank you 😊

Don't understand those stats .3 miles in 15.26. Shirley not? Or 2 miles in 12.58! Maths wasn't my strong point at school but that is one confusing graph!

Edit- oh yes. I see there are dates at the bottom .

I Still don't get it. Going back to bed.

quirkybee profile image
quirkybeeGraduateβ€’ in reply toDawnRun

Haha DawnRun you've made me chuckle here. It is confusing, but the best I could show due to me running and walking. Oh dear, think I'll go back to bed too, lol πŸ˜‚
