A bit chilly last night and I was a little trepidatious as the three minute run seemed a huge step up - pleased to say I completed the schedule, but my distance was probably 300 metres shy of last weeks sessions. Disappointed to say the least. Maybe I just need to run faster but wondered if anyone else has found their distances fluctuate the wrong way??

Distances do fluctuate, do not worry about speed, all about stamina and endurance. Keep up good work.
Thank You - I fully intend to graduate on the 23rd December..... Then have Christmas off!!!!
Yes I just did my first week 3 run and I was very much shorter in time and distance. Felt like a bit of a cop out!
Oh yes definitely, your distance will fluctuate lots. I'm on week 6 and this is the first week they are starting to go back up. Don't worry about it, you can work on speed later, it's about getting you to run for a certain amount of time, not cover a certain distance.
Think of it this way, 10k runners run slower than 5k runners. Half marathon runners run slower than 10k runners. And marathon runners definitely run slower than half marathon runners (as a general rule of averages!).
Saying that, I have found the fluctuation of speed, distance, pace etc an interesting thing to track and have posted lots about it and asking others of their experiences, but I am a numbers nerd
Numbers nerd...........SNAP!! .............. I'm sat here analysing a spreadsheet of my past 7 sessions.............. My conclusion is my knees still hurt, I'm already looking forward to tomorrows run - and Week 7 is still very scary!!
