I'm not an attractive runner, you know the type, gently glowing after a 30 minute run. I'm more the hot sweaty quivering mess who can barely breathe and looks like my face is ready to explode. Because of that I have always run indoors on my treadmill. Sadly the old machine gave up on me last week, mid way through my W2R2. I was gutted, but bravely ventured outdoors to finish the run. And I'm so glad I did!
I've realised the only person holding me back was me. I expected laughing or at the very least staring from passersby, but I have noticed the very opposite. Most people don't even seem to notice me, and the only ones who do are other runners who smile or wave, or even say hello, although I'm in no fit state to reply verbally.
I've just finished W3R1 tonight and although it was tough, I completed it in one piece and came home feeling very proud of myself. I'm still a hot sweaty quivering mess, but hopefully that will improve as I progress - I can dream haha.
Happy running
