Well I did the most silliest of things - I made a promise to myself that I would run and finish a 5k park run before my 60th birthday. I recently completed the C25K and like most graduates I never got even close to running 5k in 30 mins and all but 1 of my runs I did at the gym on a treadmill! I am very clever with coming up with excuses not to this but realised my birthday is in October and yesterday was the last Saturday I had free so my husband and i did it and oh my giddy aunt it was 100% harder than I was expecting BUT I did it in 39.56 minutes, so blooming chuffed. I have said I'll never do another one as the first half of the run was running into the wind, such hard work and I really struggled, but who knows?? So to all you lovely people that are taking part in the C25K and feel that you may not be able to complete it you definitely can. Take it from someone who really does not enjoy running, who has struggled with every run, who is turning 60 and who is over weight by 1.5 stone.
GOOD LUCK ALL

Well done to you Eurostar on completing your first 5k Parkrun in sub 40 minutes of 39.56, not long now when you will be living up to your username π π.
I don't normally post as I'm a bit lazy but wanted to write my message as hoping it might help spur on anyone who is struggling with the C25K - reading other peoples success stories helped me loads
Didn't think for a second I would do it in that time - my lovely hubby bought me a garmin watch and that really helped me as it ticked of each kilometre I did and once I reached 4k I knew I'd do it
Thanks so much for your lovely message and got to say I am very proud of myself and I hope anyone out there tackling the C25K stick with it, run slow and you will jolly well do it!!
