but it was struggle getting it in there ....
Came home from work with express intention of getting into my gear and getting out on a run, the evening was lovely, but I still put my long sleeve top on, that was a mistake ... I was bloomin mafted ... yes they are proper words, were I'm from anyways ...
I'd done my warm up prior to turning on my tracker, a little app that came with my 'fitbit' type device. So, Michael was ready for me, off we went ... trying to go steady, but not appear like an extra from Awakenings ...
As we have all been reading up on the Toxic 10, you don't need me to tell you that the first 10 mins or so were hell, its a bit undulating at the start and I just could not seem to get my oxygen debt under control ... eventually it calmed down and I was able to breathe freely and jog along nicely ...
I'd planned my route and using my previous timings I should be back at the start after about 25 mins .... well, as you can see from the chart that wasn't the case ....
The run goes clockwise round the big loop, I got to my start point, and I just knew that I was not getting the 1 minute to go (he'd not long since said "that's 20 minute", so I carried on, dreading it, because its a steady little climb all the way up hill, anti-clockwise around the hairpin, met the main road again, and that was it .... "you've done it" where was the fanfare, the trumpets and the drums .... ah well, another time...
I thought I'd stopped my tracker, but I must need to close the app too, the walk back took me the usual 5 minutes, and about 30 seconds, so I reckon I was running for 25mins 50 seconds and I measured the cool down walk 0.7km.
All in all, it was a long, hard run, that I thought I was doing at a slow and steady pace, not too unhappy at my pace though, if I can keep it going ... 4.5Km in 25:50 ... not bad, for me ...
Might try Pontefract Racecourse on Wednesday ....
