W7R1 - a series of unfortunate events

Started fine, got to the main road about 6 or 7 minutes in, and was unlucky that there was a long tail of traffic passing. Realised I was going to be there for a bit, so paused Laura. Maybe lost 30-40 seconds. Picked up the run again on the other side, and kind of thought to myself, “Oh well, that’s torn it, maybe I’ll just sack this one off and do a mixture of running and walking. I’ll stop when I get tired.” But I kept going, and kept going, and went all round the common until I was back at the main road again. Got across the first lane to the island, then there was more traffic, but the second car slowed down and flashed for me to go ahead, so I did, but then I just stopped! My rhythm had been thrown. But… I shook myself out of it after a few seconds (less than 10, I reckon) and I started to run again, 5 minute warning, feeling great, feeling strong, breathing fantastic. Picked up the pace, headed off down a side street and suddenly all transmission was lost! Stopped, very puzzled. Fiddled with my phone. Reset the Bluetooth. Got it going again. Started running again. Ran for about 15 seconds then Laura said time to stop!

So, far from perfect, but I’m going to count it, as I did most of it. And I’m pleased I stuck with it even after giving myself permission to take it easy. Boring selection of music from Laura this morning. I think I’ll switch back to the app for the next one.

Well done on getting through the run despite a few glitches, they all count :)

Count the run.. :)

I reckon the extra bits I ran because of waiting for a train to go through the station or something.. would have added up to a whole extra run!!!

Go you! :)

Count it.

Although as trainees we're rattled by hiccups to the tech/routine we're no longer completely put off so all's good :)

Bet you'll blast the next one :)

Well done for completing the run, you must get distracted when Laura misses a beat,

I only run with my watch now and have no distractions.

Wow, Patrick - you're hardcore. I feel like I probably need to start thinking about weaning myself off Laura, but not yet. I like people telling me what to do. My mother always says I would do great in prison.

Not hardcore, I have not had the company of Laura from the start as I only got basic  stop/start on my app, but I did have my stopwatch for help. My Grandson ran with me yesterday and he helped a lot, even though he had to slow down (he runs 5k every Saturday) best time 26:30 he helped with my breathing.

Well done - count it, it's not like you had to stop because you couldn't continue!
