Week 4.....bring it on!

So chuffed, just had a great run and completed Week 3 run 3!!! I think I’ve made a breakthrough with the tight calf problem too. My legs felt a lot stronger today and calves felt pretty good too, right up until the last few minutes when they started to feel a little tight again, but there was definitely an improvement! As I ran I felt I really got into some sort of a comfortable stride which felt very easy and relaxed. Beginning to feel like I love this running thing.......Week 4, bring it on!!!

Well done you! It does get easier (and then more difficult again as you move to the next week!) - keep it up!

As long as you keep it slow and steady, you are ready for each and every run.

Don't push too hard and make sure you stretch after very run. Now is the time to up the exercise a bit on rest days too.. strength and stamina need to build up with the legs as the runs get longer :)

Well done, Mazzy! Glad you are enjoying this running lark. 😀 My poor wee calfs struggled the first couple of weeks, but I think that was because there was no muscle there to speak of!

Be sure to stretch those brave calfs out after every run, they will thank you for it!

Well done on completing Week 3, I started week 4 earlier tonight and got through it fine, you will as well.

Well done Mazzy, you finished it which is the main thing. Sounds like you’re on a much deserved high! I had exactly the same problems with my calves in the first few weeks but now I don’t get that at all and I’ve only just finished week 4 so hopefully you won’t have to put up with it for much longer.
