I've only gone and done it β ... and I'm shouting it from the rooftops so I hope you can all hear me!!!
Woke at 7:15 this morning, donned the gear, found the app, plugged in the music, drank a glass of water and off I went!!
Beautiful morning to do a graduation run and the sunrise seemed to be there just for me π
Run was as perfect as a run could get. Pace. Breathing. Music. Scenery. Weather.
I don't know what the secret of the C25K is but if I did I bottle it a make a fortune. For anyone starting, in the middle of or nearly at the end of this program, keep going. I know it sounds silly but just keep at it. Slow and steady are 3 words that I will take with me wherever I go and I swear by them!!
Don't get me wrong this running malarkey is hard, it can make you doubt yourself, the gremlins are always ready to say 'I told you so', doubters will always doubt, (usually from the comfort of their own sofa as they're too scared to try it themselves) but with determination, strength and sheer bloody mindedness you can and will achieve.
Running has given me something that I didn't think I would find-an inner peace and calm that makes me feel incredible.
Exactly 9 weeks ago I started this journey feeling a little lost and not sure which direction my life would take next but it seems that I've found the path that I need to tread. Or should that be run?! Today's 5km run was 8 secs faster than Thursdays so I think I'm heading in the right direction!!
A thousand thank yous and a thousand more to each and every one of you, my family. Without you I never would have gotten this far or loved it as much π
Sending much running love β€οΈ loads of encouragement and oodles of inspiration to you all π...... I'm off in search of some more rooftops to shout from-
Congratulations graduate, you are a runner and fantastic πββοΈ what a fabulous post and such an inspiration. Love the photos, missed the sunrise this morning but I can imagine you running with that gorgeous sky. Enjoy the elation and celebrate in style ππ₯

A great post Kimchoc and an even greater achievement.
Many congratulations on graduation and on changing your life for the better. I suspect that you won't need to be hassled to continue running. There is so much more to come.
Well done well done, I'm at Week , and I can connect with your feelings on running and life direction , at a time of struggle the last thing I expected to help me cope was running! Congratulations
Beautiful, Kimchoc, well done! You have done so well on this programme and should be so proud of yourself. Running has brought me peace and inner calm too. Amazing. You are amazing. Happy running to you. π
You were one of the first people to comment on my 'newbie' post and I was grateful because you were so encouraging. Now at the start of week 7 amd am encouraged by you again to believe I will make it to the end.
Aww thank you π I'm so glad that I've helped you on your journey. I'll still be on here, posting my runs and offering up my wise words, for what they're worth π
Congratulations. πππΌπWhat a lovely post. So pleased for you. Great that you have completed the programme and enjoying the running. Long may it continue ππππΌ
Weβve done this together. I was thinking of you when I was out this morning at 8.15 my time.
You e had some bumpy bits along the way but your attitude carried you as much as your legs.
Now get off the goddam podium so it can be cleaned for the next people and come and meet us in the pub so that the Class of Oct 2017 can have a glass with you!
Fab-u-lous! Woo hoo! Well done you Here's to your new running life and the change you've made. Wishing you years and years of happy running (and lovely posts for us!) x
Congratulations on your graduation Kimchoc08 ..and what a lovely post. I so agree with your comments. C25k is an amazing programme as is this forum. I carried you all with me as I did my Parkrun on Saturday. Determined to do under 35 minutes I placed myself in between the 30 and 35 minute pacemakers. Felt I went off probably too fast..but when I looked at my watch I was still in the first 10 minutes and I remembered that it takes 10 minutes for your body to adjust to running. The rest of the way as I struggled I was just saying "slow and steady" and remembering all the posts on here where people had struggled with runs and all the encouragement people gave on here. I made it.
Celebrate your graduation..be proud and enjoy the running. It's great to have caught the running bug isn't it?.....even if it isn't easy. X
What a fabulous post! So pleased for you Will store in my psyche, for reference when the gremlins take over. The way I'm going (stuck on W4), graduating will take more like 9 mths than 9 wks - but if I can end up feeling the way you do, it'll be worth the wait. Enjoy! x
Oh what a wonderful post. I think many of us share your very well expressed thoughts on C25k. It's difficult to imagine at the outset how transformative it can be on so many levels.
Now go and bask in the afterglow of your wonderful run! (Btw, very nice stats you have there!)
Kim that's fantastic!! As usual I love reading your post and gain even more inspiration..... Go celebrate with an extra glass of water and a massive pat on the back! π
Congratulations! what a brilliant way to graduate - really thrilled for you π Really thrilled for you and I hope you celebrated in style last night! Please do keep posting about your progress beyond W9 - I'm not the only one to have gained so much inspiration from your journey so far and your self-belief is truly infectious! π
Fantastic very well done to you. I am doing Week 9 Run 2 tomorrow and all being well Week 9 Run 3 Thursday!! You have done amazingly well to have actually finished it in the 9 weeks I have taken longer than that. Like you running has changed my mind set about a lot of things and I am going to keep on after graduation. Enjoy your moment xx
Congratulations. I can feel all that effort you put in even on bad days has all led to your exhilaration. Have fun on your first parkrun! I'll definitely be cheering you on.
