10k/6.214miles!!! πŸ˜›πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

β€’17 Replies

Well! I've done it. I have just completed my 10k run which is 6.214 miles apparently.

So I decided that I would put my Garmin into miles. I think for me it's mind over matter.Reaching the 6mile marker seems for me easier to think about. So when I get to 3miles I just tell myself I've only got another 3 then I've done it yippee! And that's exactly what I did. πŸ€“πŸ€“

The time however was slow but I'm not too bothered as I can hopefully improve on that. To be honest my goal today was to get my 10k/6miles (which ever way you want to say it) under my belt and I did.πŸ˜›πŸ˜›

I did it on my treadmill as I knew that I would not be able to achieve it outside where I live .This is because as you all will remember me writing on numerous occasions about how hilly it is !and many inclines! So I achieved my aim today and this is the way I did it.

Now I just have to improve on my time.My speed was between 6 and 6.5 deliberately as I knew that any higher a speed I would not have achieved my aim.I also walked for 5 mins so did not stop at all. My overall run was 1hour 36 mins. My pace was slow as well

So my question now is Do I become a graduate10? Pleeeease! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Not that slow! Took me 90 minutes and I've not done it since!! (but you will, of course).

Woo-hoo - well done. Enjoy that fab feeling, it's HARD work.

Thanks again pollyp! Still enjoying the feeling and amazed that I actually did it.But you are right it was hard !. My intention is to do 10k in May in the Hereford running festival. I'll be the big 60 by then, shall hopefully still enjoy my running ,enjoy of course being the most important word and achieving a better time.

By the way pollyp your time was great!

Happy runningπŸ˜€πŸ˜€

I live with my wonderful husband and our two beautiful Labradors ( uncle and niece) on the border of Monmouth. Village called Llangrove. Do you know it at all?

I know Monmouth (well, as a way point on the way to Cardiff, where my Aunt and Uncle lived). Lovely part of the world.

Yes it's very beautiful and even though there is loads of hills and inclines we wouldn't change it for the world ha! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€β›°πŸž

No you do not become a 10k graduate on this forum, you have to go to the Bridge to 10k forum for that.

Well done, another six milestones passed.
