Was so much fun! For the first time since I burned out a few weeks back, I was able to push my speed a little. I need to do that more - I went for a brisk walk uphill at the weekend and found myself out really of breath, to my shock! I’ve come far on this programme but there’s clearly a lot further to go.
Week 6 run 2: Was so much fun! For the first... - Couch to 5K
Week 6 run 2
Brilliant! Well done you. I am planning that one tomorrow....
The fun ones make you eager for the next one and forget the "bad" ones 😀.
But don't worry about building speed yet just carry on slowly, steadily, sensibly - not too quickly, not too slowly, just right for c25k (apologies for paraphrasing the Trumpton opening sequence). Your body is still adjusting to this running lark, your walk up the hill shows that your lungs are also still catching up.
Enjoy the rest of the programme (spoiler alert) the longer runs are really good, if you have them enjoy the views on the way, speeding along not required 😀
Well done on that little push, it's amazing how encouraging being able to do something like that is. Well done on sticking at it and happy running an de hill walking!
Well done.
I ran the whole of C25k as fast as I could, which meant I seemed fast at graduation but have improved my 5k PB by about two minutes only over the last four years.
You don't need to run fast to become a good runner. Have a look at the link that Rigs has posted here healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Running too fast all the time is the classic rookie error.
