Having arrived at the park I scoped out yesterday, I got out of the car at about 5.30 a.m. to find it wasnโt as flat as I thought ๐. Never mind, I thought, it will do me good! I had the added concern that I might actually get lost, so tried to be sensible and look round for a few markers. That done, put my music on to play (Led Zeppelin 4) and Michael appeared on cue! We were off! Struggled a bit to find a comfortable pace on the first 10 minute run due to the slopes; at one point I decided to go up an incline and head back towards the start, ended up going so slowly on the turn that I had trouble keeping going, but did NOT stop! The 3 minute walk was perhaps more welcome than usual! Then, off we went again. This time, I settled much better and found a pace that I liked, although Michael seemed to take a longer time than I expected to reach the halfway point; I thought heโd gone AWOL to look round the park. Managed to pick it up a bit for the last 30 seconds and was rewarded for that with a better pace (for me ๐) of just over 10 sec/km. Another one in the bag - oh, Yessssss!

Week 6 Run 2
Well done Jools!
And thankfully Michael hadn't gone sightseeing! Are you going to stick with the park?
Well done! Looks like a lovely route, as long as you are careful with your footing seems like a good route to spice things up sometimes
Thanks! Yes, youโre right - but Iโm a creature of habit and find it difficult to change things ๐
Huge well done...nothing like a new route to shake things up!
You soon realise that nothing is totally flat when you cycle or run
Good to hear !
Well done ๐๐๐
I think I need to find a different place to run , I'm fed up with the same area haha.
Sounds like it went well ! That's great, as you say another one in the bag .
It's getting closer ! ๐ฌ
Thanks! Yes, it is. Every time I run, I remind myself of how far weโve come.๐
Well done you .... changing your route and not knowing the territory can be a huge distraction but you got through it and a good time too !
Well sorted and ready for R3 I suggest .... so what will the music of choice be for R3?? ... AC/DC? Deep Purple? More Pink Floyd?
Well done, Julia. Another in the bag. 25 minuter next and youโll have no issue with it.
My pace is still well belong the 5km in 30mins; in fact it is very much in the 40 min mark. But, Iโm definitely concentrating on time and hoping the pace will come with practice!
Awesome job.
Well done! Good luck for run 3 ๐ช๐ป
Smashing it Julia...love the photo!.... 530am too! Wowee!
I thought the same - he disappeared for longer than i would like... and just as I thought he had gone missing in action he returned
You're doing so well.. and you are so adventurous!.... Love your posts and love to watch your progress - keep going
Yes, still waking up too early! Thank you, Jane. Can you see the slopes in that photo? How could I ever have thought it was flat. Darenโt run on the road again, my shin was aching after my run on Saturday. Do not want shin splints, oh no! Seems better today. Iโll just have to run on the flattest bits of that park! ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
Thatโs me too! I donโt pound the pavements... not sure my knees could take it.. I do think the grass softens the landing a little bit...
youโre doing fantastic!... I ran a few inclines on Sunday, inspired by you!...
keep going... Grassy flat places ๐๐๐๐
Proud of you
