Day 1 Run 1 ✅

Running is definitely not my thing. Even when I was fit, there was no way I could run non-stop for 30min. Something attracted me to this programme though and I can't wait to see whether I will be able to complete it or not. I will probably stop at week 5 and repeat it again 😊 (the jump at the running time seems to be huge around that time!!). Day 1 Run 1 went well - particularly on a gorgeous day like this. Wish me luck! 🍀

Thank you!!!!! Looking forward to Run 2 🙂

Welcome Vassia , Honestly, you'll be fine! Believe me, I've been where you are only a few weeks ago.

I think I started to find it easier when I forced myself to think only about the next run, not the dreaded W5R3. As anyone who has done it on here, and that was me the Tuesday just gone, if you've done the rest of the programme before, it's fine, and you can do it. But don't worry about that now. By the time you get there you will be much fitter and I guarantee, enjoying it more. You've already done the first run, which is mentally one of the hardest I think. By 30 seconds on my first, I was screaming for a break.

All the best with this, and remember you have all the support you need right here :)

Thank you Neil. It's really encouraging reading comments from people who have done it before. I am really excited now!!! 😀😀

Welcome. Like everyone says concentrate on the run in hand and you'll be amazed at the progress you make.

Let us know on here how you get on.

Well done you two!! I was trying to get my 11 year old daughter to do it too, but she thought it was too easy!! (typical competitive young lady!) 😉

I have never ever been a runner. I’ve been a fast walker and that’s it. For years I used my arthritic knee as a reason not to give it ago, but this summer reached the conclusion that enough was enough. I hadn’t been exercising at all - the odd walk here and there, up a hill or on a beach, but not actual exercise.

At week one I found it hard, but manageable. Week two was a challenge. I never imagined I’d get this far, but I just ran 25 minutes without stopping. Me. That is literally the longest I’ve ever run in my whole life. Did it on Friday night too. That’s twice I’ve exceeded all my expectations, and now 30 minutes seems remarkably achievable. The programme works! Trust it, and believe it yourself. You’ll be just fine by the time you get there!
